Steers escape Emmett farm and could be roaming county

Times Herald

EMMETT TWP. – Four steers are on the lam in rural St. Clair County.

According to Connie Raska, five steers on July 31 escaped from the Raska farm in the 5000 block of Gleason Road in Emmett Township.

One of the steers was found at a farm in the area of M-19 and Metcalf Road. Neither hide nor hair has been seen of the other four wandering steers in the last three days, Raska said.

She's concerned that drivers be aware the steers might still be wandering around, and that the cattle could pose a traffic menace.

Anyone who sees the strays can call her at (810) 387-3540 or can call Ray Raska at (231) 6026 or (231) 357-4353.

Two of the steers are red and white; the other two are black and white. They are missing their ear tags and are not tattooed or branded for identification.

They have been seen as far west as Capac Road and as far south as M-21, Raska said.
