Southfield fire chief possible drowning victim

HARRISON TWP. – Detectives from the Macomb County Sheriff Department are investigating the possible drowning of Keith Rowley, 58, Friday evening in Lake St. Clair.

According to a news release from the department, Rowley is the chief of the Southfield Fire Department. He is a Milford resident

Deputies at about 7:12 p.m. Friday received a 911 call reporting that a man had gone overboard from a 40-foot Trojan powerboat about 21/2 miles off Belle Maer Harbor in Lake St. Clair.

The Macomb County Sheriff Marine Division and the the U.S. Coast Guard searched throughout the evening but were unable to find Rowley. Divers continued the search Saturday morning.

Three other people were aboard the boat. The operator, a 55-year-old man from Troy, was taken into custody for operating a watercraft while intoxicated. His name is not being released at this time.

The other people on board were a 55-year-old woman from Rochester Hills and a 38-year-old woman from Bloomfield Township,
